Siusi allo Sciliar
Siusi allo Sciliar is a beautiful mountain village located between Castelrotto and Fiè allo Sciliar, surrounded by meadows and forests with a spectacular view of the Dolomites. The village centre almost seems like a fine living room, with restaurants, small shops and hotels. Siusi, at an altitude of 1004 m, is the starting point of the new panoramic cable cars to Alpe di Siusi, where the road is mostly closed to ordinary traffic. This small jewel at the bottom of Alpe di Siusi is well-known for the ruin of Hauenstein Castle, which was the residence of troubadour Oswald von Wolkenstein during the late Middle Ages. In honour of the troubadour, the popular Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride, a riding competition known far beyond the Alpine region, takes place every year.
This village is located in a sunny basin and is a very popular holiday destination. In summer it attracts guests due to the innumerable walks, hikes and climbing tours, and in winter due to the nearby lifts in the Sciliar area.
An enchanting historic region is looking forward to welcoming you - all year!
